Bare Essence Squeeze Pages Review

Squeeze Page

While reading messages on a marketing forum I stumbled across a product that caught my eye for some reason. I can’t even remember exactly why. But it did, and so I checked out the product creator and looked at some of his other products. And his free reports. And what others were saying about him. And I got hooked.

The product in question was “Bare Essence Squeeze Pages” by Jason Fladlien, a young, up-and-coming marketing wiz. I’m going to review that product in a minute, but first I want to talk about Jason.

Who is Jason Fladlien?

One of the first things you’ll learn about Jason is that he has got some serious time management skills. In particular when it comes to writing. And it shows in the incredible number of articles and reports he has created for others, as well as the number of products he has created that he markets himself. Mr. Fladlien is definitely prolific, and in many of his products he shares the tips and techniques that can make anyone a more productive writer and product creator.

The next thing you’ll discover is that he can write really compelling sales copy. Unlike a lot of product creators who get other copywriters to come up with theirs, it looks like Jason writes all of his sales pages himself. Which makes sense given that he got his start by writing articles, and then sales pages, for others. Then he got tired of working by the hour, got up the nerve to create his own product, and surprised himself by doing well selling it. So he created more products. And wrote more of his own sales pages. And he’s gotten really good at it.

But are his products any good?

From what I’ve seen, and what others are reporting, the quality of Jason’s products is really high. As is their value. That’s due in part to his overall business strategy, which is to attract customers with inexpensive, high-value products that prove himself to you and give him the opportunity to sell you more. Something you can’t really pull off unless you’ve got the time management skills and self-discipline to create a lot of products and maintain the quality level.

And that’s where I have a bit of concern. From what I can tell, Jason is now branching out into other areas, such as video and webinars and membership sites. In many ways these are logical extensions of his foundations in article marketing and copywriting. But I have to ask myself if he can really maintain the quality level as he expands his product line. Only time will tell.

[NOTE: In order to get good search engine rankings for this page I'm pretty much obligated to include a sentence with the word "scam" in it at this point. Like, is it true that Jason Fladlien is a scammer who uses SPAM to promote his Bare Essence Squeeze Pages scam? No, I don't believe that to be the case. But thanks for asking.]

So where do “Bare Essence Squeeze Pages” fit into all this?

The sales page header says “My Best Converting Squeeze Pages ALL Contain Less Than 100 Words And Take Only 4 Minutes To Create” and a little further down “Laziness. That’s how I, Jason Fladlien, stumbled upon one of the best kept secrets for making high converting squeeze pages.”

So it appears that Jason has figured out how to create effective squeeze pages as quickly and easily as he can write articles or sales pages. Let’s take a look at the package to see how well he delivers on that. The package, by the way, includes the main video training product, plus three bonuses.

Bare Essence Squeeze Page Video Training

First you download a 172MB zip file that contains a mindmap (Jason loves mindmaps), 48 minutes of training as both standard video (MP4) as well as an iPod version (M4V), an audio (MP3) of the same, and three squeeze page templates.

The mindmap isn’t too useful on its own, but it’s what Jason uses to structure the video training. And the more I see him do this the more I’m becoming a fan of mindmaps myself. I’ve used mindmaps in the past, but Jason has opened my eyes to their effectiveness as an organizational tool and a time-saver.

Likewise, the templates are nice, but not essential. Once you understand the reason why his squeeze pages work so well you’ll know enough to apply them to a variety of looks.

The video, on the other hand, has a lot going for it. I watched the whole thing on my iPhone in one sitting and could have easily watched more. I really like the way Jason presents information in his videos. The pace is quick, the content is interesting, and Jason is an engaging presenter.

And I’m not easy to please when it comes to videos. I’m not a particularly patient person and I get really frustrated with videos that take 10 times longer to present the same information that I could have gotten from a PDF. I was a bit worried that might be the case with this product as well, since it does not include a PDF transcript. All I can say is that a PDF transcript would simply be a waste of time. Jason made the right call with the combination of video and mindmap.

So what does he cover in the video? Obviously I can’t give away too much of his information here – that wouldn’t be fair. But I think I can safely reveal that the main thing I took away from this was a deeper understanding of the overall process of integrating a squeeze page with an autoresponder sequence and a sales page in a way that works effectively with the mindset of the typical person that shows up on one of your landing pages.

Sorry if that sounds terribly dull. Trust me, it isn’t. But I’m doing a review here, so I’m keeping the hype to a minimum. Suffice it to say that I’ve seen a lot of squeeze pages and signed up for a lot of lists and not once have I seen anyone else apply the principles that Jason explains in this video. So I’ll be surprised if you have. And if you haven’t, you should get a lot of value out of his techniques. They’re simple, but hardly anyone is doing them.

At the risk of turning up the hype I will say this. If you watch this video, I think it will permanently change the way you look at squeeze pages … in a good way. How’s that for a benefit?

Bonus 1: How I Sold A Membership Site for $32,000

This bonus is a 10 minute video that tells the story of how Jason and his business partner created and sold a membership website. There were one or two clever ideas I picked up from this video. However, I haven’t done much with membership sites so someone with more experience in this area might not be too surprised by what Jason reveals. It does make for a good story, though, and makes you realize what an active guy this Jason is.

Bonus 2: Automatic Motivation NLP Training

Speaking of being an active guy, this bonus PDF focuses on a way to motivate yourself to take massive action (something that’s clearly working for Fladlien). He covers four different areas and has interesting insights based on Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), which, if you aren’t already familiar with it, deals with how the brain works and how to change ones patterns of thought to work for you, rather than against you.

NLP is powerful stuff, though I have to admit that some of it doesn’t always make sense to me and I find some of the techniques difficult to put into practice. In spite of that, I did get some useful tips from this PDF and I certainly see how it fits into the bigger picture of what Jason has to offer.

If your goal is to have effective squeeze pages for products, you also need to be able to create products. And if you want to have lots of products, you need to be efficient. And you won’t be efficient if mental roadblocks are causing procrastination and a fear of failure. So you need to get your head straight as well. Make sense?

Bonus 3: How To Create Offer Based Sales Letters In Less Than 45 Minutes

This bonus is an hour and 23 minute video where Jason covers a bunch of copywriting and advanced conversion techniques. I guess I got what I wished for when I said I would have gladly watched more after I finished the “Bare Essence Squeeze Page” training video. And all I have to say is “Damn! I could listen to this Jason kid all day long.”

I’ve known how important copywriting is for a long, long time. And I’ve read a book or two about it. But I never really put much of an effort into getting good at it. Which is a shame and, I think, a big mistake. I think I would have been better off perfecting my copywriting skills than perfecting my computer programming skills. Of course, it’s never too late, and I’m just glad I’ve got Jason Fladlien to inspire me, motivate me, and show me what can be done.

Like I said in the beginning of this review, I was hooked early on and I’m still hooked on Fladlien. In my opinion, “Bare Essence Squeeze Pages” is an excellent package. Anyone interested in squeeze pages, copywriting, sales letters, conversions, autoresponder sequences, and internet marketing in general is bound to find fresh ideas that will change their thinking for the better. And that, to me, has immense value.

I’m having a hard time getting the template/squeeze page to look like Jason’s squeeze page.
For instance, the concrete template when uploaded doesn’t appear on my squeeze page.
Thus my squeeze page has an all white background without the concrete background. WTF?

Did you ask Jason about this? He’s pretty good about responding to emails. I guess I haven’t had any problems because I’ve done a lot of web development and I’m used to HTML, CSS and such things.

I didn’t realize one needed to have a lot of web development experience.
I’ve created squeeze pages before and never had a problem.
I use NVU and when I place the code in NVU I can’t get the concrete background or any of the other backgrounds/images to appear.
I thought it would be more user friendly.
At the very least there should be instruction on how to ensure the squeeze templates are uploaded properly.
I sent an email but have not received a response yet.
Not sure if the email address used is his main email.
